Weinreb develops billion-dollar-scale open-source climate R&D programs as the director of nonprofit Manhattan 2. Also, he has authored over 50 climate/energy articles, and has produced over 20 YouTube videos with 100K to 1M views each.

Weinreb is currently exploring whether Europe could develop a European Climate Moonshot as part of its 2028–34 climate and research agenda using his open-source portfolio as a starting point. The portfolio includes eight $1 billion R&D initiatives spanning nuclear fission, fusion, global climate modeling, stratospheric aerosol injection (SAI), and marine cloud brightening (MCB).
 
Earlier in his career, he founded GW Instruments in 1985, a company that designs and manufactures hardware and software that automates factories and research laboratories. Over 35 years he helped set up thousands of factories and labs.

 

Weinreb earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from MIT in 1986. He welcomes conversations with researchers, research institutions, funders, and public-sector leaders interested in independently evaluating or improving his ideas.
